CPR on SJX 2.5-Hour

This new version of our famous CPR course combines our love for fun and immersive practical training, with the efficiency of video enhanced training.

The St John Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course gives you the skills to perform CPR on a person who is unconscious and not breathing normally in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

This remote area first aid course is specifically designed to meet the first aid needs of bushwalkers, wilderness guides, and people who work or live in remote locations.
The course covers everything from comprehensive first aid treatments to aeromedical evacuation, long-term care, self-care, and contingency planning. It is focused on the safety of the first aider and extended care of an ill or injured casualty where help is likely to be delayed or inaccessible.

Join us for a Motorcycle First Aid Trauma session and learn life-saving skills for emergency situations. 

Tailored for motorcyclists, this session will teach practical techniques to assist injured riders until professional help arrives.

| 7 Hour 30 Minute Course

Provide Advanced Resuscitation

This course is a course designed for experienced first-aiders who use specific equipment and often work in higher-risk environments.

This course develops advanced skills for providing life support and focuses on the use of oxygen delivery systems and in-depth knowledge and skill in the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED); as well as the skills and knowledge required to use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation and oxygen therapy in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

  • HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy

Please note that a current certificate for Provide First Aid HLTAID011 is a prerequisite of this course.
Evidence of currency in Provide First Aid is to be provided BEFORE the course by emailing it to bookings@stjohntas.org.au.
Failure to do so will result in not being able to attend.

This course is specifically designed to meet the needs of people working in the childhood learning industry. 

This course for those who are required to respond to a first aid emergency including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.
It is a nationally recognised unit that describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children, and adults.
It covers child-specific first aid in many high-risk areas such as anaphylaxis and asthma, as well as common injuries and resuscitation.

Our First Aid in Schools Holiday Program is designed for participants of all ages, offering a family-friendly environment where parents and children can learn together.
Our focus is on providing essential first aid training in an interactive, hands-on manner, ensuring participants leave with valuable life-saving skills.
Our curriculum empowers students to identify danger, respond effectively and call for help. Older students and parents will also be able to learn how to perform CPR.

Whether you're bandaging teddy bears or practicing CPR on mannequins, our holiday program is the perfect mix of education and entertainment.

We foster an inclusive workplace where growth is always our focus. We always recognise achievements and celebrate success.

This course is appropriate for people who work in high-risk areas, act as first aiders to larger facilities or groups, or work in areas where help may be delayed or have difficulty accessing casualties. 

The course covers a broad range of advanced skills and provides you with high level skills in management of large incidents, major trauma, sudden cardiac arrest, emotionally disturbed and drug affected casualties; as well as the skills and knowledge required to use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation and oxygen therapy in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

Mental health issues are becoming more and more common and First Aiders are being called upon to help colleagues, friends, family and members of the public.
This nationally recognised and comprehensive course describes the skills and knowledge required to recognise situations where people may be in imminent crisis, and then to work collaboratively to minimise any safety concerns and make plans to access required support services.

Gain the skills and knowledge required to lead staff in the management of asthma and anaphylaxis emergencies in the workplace, particularly education and care settings.
The course includes looking at how to conduct an anaphylaxis/asthma risk assessment for the workplace/education setting, development of communication plans, risk management plans, individual management plans and post incident reviews including policy review. You will also learn 
how to effectively use medications for these conditions.

Caring for Kids

Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, or guardian, a little information and knowledge about kids can make all the difference! 

At St John Ambulance Australia we have designed this course which highlights the key issues and provides essential skills and knowledge for parents and other carers.

It provides practical skills and knowledge on identifying and managing a number of common conditions and injuries in infants and children. It also provides information on how to access referral and advice services that can help to determine the need for medical aid.

Pain Management

This course covers the proper administration of paracetamol and methoxyflurane to relieve pain.
It includes information about the use, storage, and documentation of administration as well as ongoing monitoring of the casualty.

White Card

Safety in the construction industry is of upmost importance.

This unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work.
It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.

Manual Handling

This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to recognise potentially hazardous manual tasks and then to prepare and complete those tasks in a safe manner.
It aims to help participants identify and address workplace health and safety risks, implement safety procedures, and promote a safe working environment.
