Adult Helpers often bring much needed skills to the division. As an Adult Helper you will volunteer your time and work with the Divisional Leaders to ensure the smooth running of the program. Taking on the role of an Adult Helper is a rewarding experience where you can make a positive impact, learn new skills, and engage with your community.
We are looking for Adult Leaders with a keen interest in working with young people. Someone who has a passion for facilitating the learning and development of our St John Youth Members. We want to make sure members receive the best care and support during training.
If you have a background in areas such as education/learning support, healthcare or youth program facilitation, that’s a bonus! However, if you haven’t had much experience working with young people but are keen to get on board, we’d love for you to express your interest.
As a member of the divisional leadership team, you will contribute to the planning and general management and tasks as directed by your Divisional Youth Manager.
St John Youth Members participate in regular training sessions at their local division, usually weekly, for up to 2 hours during school terms. First Aid training includes a blend of accredited qualifications and non-accredited training. Training nights also offer members a place to socialise, take part in fun activities and help build their leadership skills.
We ask our Adult Leaders to provide a minimum of 4 hours support a week.

After the applicant's formal interview, a recommendation will be made to the State Youth Manager.
Once approved, you are ready to begin helping at your local St John Youth Division!
