Keep Your Community Safe with the Tasmanian Government’s Community Defibrillator Fund
The Tasmanian Government has launched the Community Defibrillator Fund, providing a life-changing opportunity for community groups, not-for-profits, and individuals to access funding to purchase lifesaving Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). This initiative is aimed at improving access to defibrillators, particularly in rural and remote areas, and ensuring that more lives can be saved when seconds count.
Each year, thousands of Australians experience sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). Without immediate treatment, survival rates are shockingly low. AEDs are designed to deliver a lifesaving shock that can restore a normal heart rhythm during SCA. They are simple to use, even for those without medical training, and can mean the difference between life and death.
Applications for the fund are open now and close on 31 January 2025. If you’ve been considering equipping your organisation or community with a defibrillator, now is the perfect time to act.
