Mascot Mayhem at JackJumpers Game: St John Joins the Fun!

Johnny and G5 becoming crowd favourites for young fans

On Saturday 24 January 2026, our very own Johnny the Bear and G5 joined the action at MyState Bank Arena for the highly anticipated JackJumpers vs Illawarra Hawks game. What a night it was!

As part of Mascot Day, 15 mascots from across the state came together to bring colour, energy, and laughter to the concourse before the game. From 6:00 to 8:00 pm, our mascots were out in force, dancing, waving, and high-fiving fans of all ages as they explored the arena and joined in the courtside buzz.

Community Engagement That Stands Out

For St John, this wasn’t just about fun costumes. It was a fantastic chance to connect with the community and raise awareness about first aid readiness in a lighthearted and approachable way.

Whether it was posing for photos, joining mascot group dances, or sharing laughs with fellow mascots like Jack the Jumper, our team made the most of every moment. We were proud to be part of an event that brought together families, sports fans, and local organisations in a night full of spirit and connection.

Thank You to the JackJumpers

A huge thank you to the JackJumpers team for inviting us to be part of this joyful event. The Mascot Day experience reminded us once again how powerful local sport can be in bringing people together. Even a teddy bear in a green hi-vis vest can make someone’s night.

We’re already looking forward to the next time Johnny and G5 get back on the concourse!
