First Aid Kits

All St John NT volunteers have the opportunity to learn life-saving skills, attend amazing events, make lifelong friendships, and make a positive impact in their community.

In addition to Event Health Services, St John NT runs a Youth program for members aged 8 to 18. All of our volunteer divisions can also be activated for community service during emergencies and disasters.

Our volunteer program promotes self-learning and development. No matter where you live in the Northern Territory, you can build your story and make a positive impact in the community by becoming a St John NT volunteer.

When you volunteer with St John NT...

Becoming a volunteer

No matter where you live, or what you’ve learned along the way, you can make an incredible difference in your community by becoming a St John NT volunteer and learn life-saving skills.

St John NT have three levels of membership – Adult, Youth and Junior. Volunteer induction sessions are run once a month, for approximately two hours. As these are delivered online, they can be attended from any location.

Adults – 18+

Volunteers aged 18 years and older provide quality first aid services to the Northern Territory’s wide range of events, shows, and festivals. Volunteers are provided with accredited first aid training and have opportunities to gain additional accredited certificates including a Certificate II in Medical Service First Response and Certificate III in Basic Health Care.

Youth – 11 to 17 years old

Youths are invited to assist adult volunteers in first aid services at events across the Territory. Youths are also offered accredited first aid training and are able to build their skills by working alongside seasoned volunteers. St John NT provides unique opportunities for Youth members to practice their skills, such as the annual Youth Competitions and National Youth Competitions.

Juniors – 8 to 10 years old

Junior members are provided an introduction to first aid and are able to attend events while accompanying an adult member. Junior members are able to learn about first aid and experience the excitement of what First Aid Volunteers do.
