St John Tasmania Seeks Aboriginal Artists for Reconciliation Action Plan Artwork

Scenery of Rock Formations in Tasmania

As part of our ongoing efforts to develop our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), we are thrilled to extend an invitation to Aboriginal artists and designers who are residents of Tasmania, or who originate from and have grown up in Tasmania, to participate in an exciting opportunity.

We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from talented artists to create a unique piece of artwork. This artwork will play a pivotal role in the publication of our Reconciliation Action Plan. Additionally, it may be featured in other corporate publications and projects, offering artists a platform to showcase their work.

This initiative is not just about incorporating indigenous art into our publications—it's a meaningful step towards acknowledging and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Aboriginal communities in Tasmania. The selected artwork will reflect the values and themes of reconciliation, and will contribute to the broader dialogue about unity, respect, and mutual understanding.

How to Submit Your Expression of Interest

Interested artists should download the EOI document via the button below.

We invite interested artists to submit their EOI via the form below or by emailing them to: rap@stjohntas.org.au.

Applications should include:

  • A brief biography, outlining your connection to Tasmania and your artistic journey.
  • Examples of previous work, to give us an insight into your style and expertise.

The submission deadline is 28 May 2024, and selected artists will be contacted shortly after to discuss the next steps. This is a paid opportunity, and the selected artist will be compensated for their work according to industry standards.
